Mint - Mint grows very easily so, unless you have a huge plot, pot your mint in some soil based compost. The tangy common mint, lemon mint and peppermint all make very nice cups. All you need is a few leaves and some boiled water and you`re in business.

Lemon Balm - This a vigorous herb and another which can be grown in a pot, it will need to be a pretty big one though as this herb can grow up to 60cm, add a little horticultural grit for sustenance. Place in a sunny or shady spot and prune regularly as it will need it. A cuppa will taste lovely with about 5 of these leaves and it will be a zesty one, to increase the flavour, bruise the leaves as they are in the hot water. These are also quite versatile and are very complimentary to a long summer drink.

Camomile - this herb needs a sunny place and free draining soil. You could either grow a patch especially for you tea or just put it in a not to formal part of your garden. Try and get a friend to give you a spare plant or grow it from a seed. This really is one of the most calming of drinks and will do you the world of good in relieving stress. Make the tea with a teaspoon or two full of fresh or dried flowers, mix with boiling hot water and sip.

Ginger - ginger can be bought from a local supermarket and if left to sprout for a week or two. If you grow it in a pot, plant it really quite shallow, so part of the root is just below soil level and put it in a warm sunny spot. Either freshly grated or thinly sliced this is hot drink and is accompanied well by a slice of lemon.

So try something different, it won`t cost you much, they taste great and they are very good for you.
